After listening to this performance by Menuhin,

would you call it “off pitch” or “intonation”?

There is an astonishing difference between the two.

Why are his thirds so warm, sounding harmoniously beautiful?

At times, it almost sounds like listening to two violins.

Can you hear the difference?

To be “a good pianist” is not just about training.

Before learning every kind of “how to”,

one must develop the ear that is required of a deeper musician.

To achieve this, we have to listen to many “real” performances.

Remember,we can only produce what we are able to hear

from this majestic instrument with its unlimited possibilities.

Do you hear what I hear?
